We are a family who enjoy each other and find many opportunities to play and fellowship together.
Tables of Eight: Many have chosen to be part of this small group ministry. Each group gathers monthly for a meal and just spending time together. These groups, which often grow to more than eight, may also attend cultural events or other outings.
Nan and
Bob Koehnke are looking for 6 to 8 folks to form a new “Tables for
Eight” dinner group. These groups meet once a month either in homes or
restaurants for a time of fellowship and fun. There are about seven
groups going at this time. We try to limit the groups to 8 to 10 so that
we can get well acquainted with each other. Every couple of years the
groups are mixed up so we get a chance to meet different people. Some
groups meet for lunch and others for dinner. The Koehnkes are hoping to
begin a dinner group. Please call Nan or Bob if you are interested. We
welcome both couples and singles.
Keep In Touch:
For several years this program has been
active in our church. Those participating agree to call another on a
regular schedule just to ask “How are you today?” Maybe there is
something that would be fun to share or to just chat for a few minutes.
If you are interested in being a caller or receiving a call, or learning
more about this activity, please contact Pearl.
Playing
Bridge: This group is a women's fellowship opportunity that includes dedicated Bridge Players who play all year. (Some have been know to come home from vacations so they don't miss their game.) Other senior adults enjoy games of Rummy-cubes for fun and fellowship on a sporadic schedule. Janet Medcalf is their contact person.
Friends of the Trustees: A Group of men and women that meet at the church to fix things and are extra hands to do maintenance.
Summer Picnic: We do love to eat and fellowship. We have a picnic on the church grounds.
Young at Heart: This group meets on the fourth Monday monthly for a luncheon and program. They are spoiled by a wonderful caterer, and Gwen Rankin provides a variety of stimulating and fun programs.
Continental Breakfast: In the summer time a different group provides the breakfast and uses the time to share about what they are doing in ministry.
Athletic Teams:
We have two wonderful softball teams that start up in the spring.
Pieces of Love: Men and women are welcome to help make quilts to comfort cancer patients and residents of a nearby domestic violence shelter.
Comfort Saturday: Men and women work on projects they want to finish with fellowship. Dust off a project or bring new ones. Some examples are models, scrap booking, quilting, knitting, photo albums, making cards, etc. Pieces of Love provide comfort food for the event. We usually have them in October and March. |
