Sunday Morning for Kids
At GHUMC, Sunday mornings include Worship Service and Sunday School for all. Children worship with their family. During worship, they will be invited to come forward for a short children's message.
K-5 kids can meet for Sunday School in Room #5 at 10:05am.
Our Sunday School centers on a Bible teaching, learning about church and what it means to be part of a church community. We almost always have a craft or a game to make the learning even more fun.
10:05-10:50am- Sunday School
Parents are asked to pick children up at 10:50.
Other Opportunities for Kids
Not every kid wants to be up-front, but when children are ready, Pastor Molly tries hard to incorporate them into leadership at certain times of year. Let us know if you've got a great little reader that would be happy to enter into the scripture reader rotation. Children who are big enough to (and can be safe!) are welcome to be trained to acolyte and sign up to light the candles for the beginning of worship. Other children really enjoy welcoming people at the door with their parents as greeters once a month. Older children often find that serving at our Open Table alongside their parents is fun and rewarding. When children serve in the church, they understand that they are part of the congregation and begin to grasp that they can help change the world for the better.
